Trainings & Public Speaking

In an earlier chapter of life, I spoke at festivals, colleges and conferences alongside my film, Austin Unbound. Now I offer trainings for employees, students and staff about social media and accessibility. Social media is a growing factor for job seekers, recruiters and college departments. My trainings are offered as seminars, webinars and even podcasts. Each is customized for the audience.

Project Management

Important deadline nearing but no bandwidth to attend to every detail? I will help oversee marketing projects and campaign launches. I visualize big picture strategy and help prioritize and roll out the various phases. I am a communicator. Let's talk about how we can build efficiency into your systems as we go.

Examples

  • Product Ownership: produced and directed a multi-year documentary that resulted in the film screening in dozens of countries and getting translated in to nine foreign languages. - Austin Unbound
  • Web transition and hiring campaigns
  • PDXAUX Meetup The Portland Accessibility and User Experience Meetup started in May 2015 and has grown to almost 600 members. We host lectures at Puppet Labs and happy hours at Green Dragon. My role is in programming speakers and coordinating with other committee members. Read more on my blog for what we have done, so far.

When I get excited about a movement, I become a total evangelist. I love finding the win-win in strategic partnerships, then helping spread the word and continue the relationships.

Grants, Campaigns, Sponsorships

I've raised over $75K in grants, campaigns and  sponsorships. I first realized I had a knack for fundraising after writing grants and running community giving campaigns to seek support for that film I madeI ran a banner advertising sponsorship campaign for rebeccawood.com and brought in two new long standing sponsors.

National and Local Business Relationships

I did account management for the Portland Oregon Women's Film Festival (aka POWFest.) I worked with the Executive Director and graphic designer to create a new sponsorship kit and ran email campaigns that targeted major brands. I landed 30% new business with accounts such as Zipcar and Verizon and maximized existing partnerships with companies such as New Belgium Brewery, ADi and LUNA Bar.

Oh Yes, and the United Nations

I had a stint with AccessibilityOz, traveling 25% of the time to get familiar with the team, attend meetings with prospects, exhibit and network, follow up and nurture relationships. Sales cycles are long in the field of web accessibility, but I am happy to report that with my help, my client grown her U.S. sales 1000%.
